I started a podcast. I started a podcast because my friend said, “You should start a podcast!” I started a podcast because I found a great platform that made it really easy. I started a podcast because I’ve been secretly wanting my own radio show since 2001 when I would listen to NPR all the time in my home. I started a podcast because I believe we all have a story to share, and I want you to be able to share your story. And, I will host that story-telling platform for you. Because, I believe, we are all better together. And one way we can see that we are all better together is by sharing those stories.

You can find my podcast by clicking on “podcast” in the menu. This will bring up the current summary of shows and many ways to listen. I have chosen to partner with anchor.fm as my hosting and publishing platform for two main reasons. 1) The sound quality is great. 2) It’s free. There is no cash outlay for me, a one-woman show. No $6,000 six-month contract. Just me and my phone recording my vision and telling your stories. A side benefit is that they distribute my show to all the major platforms.

And, that distribution has happened. I have been picked up by 7 of the 10 platforms they work with, including Apple Podcasts and Spotify. So you can listen now.

How this podcast will work

I have a vision of a sustainable world, where people, place, and profit are balanced equitably. I will share this vision in soapbox rants. I also have a belief that we all have a story and that we are all better together. So, I plan on interviewing everyone who says “yes” to my invitation to interview.

I want to hear from you if you are working in community, trying really hard to balance all your roles, generally want the world to be a better place, are super focused on your magic and goal of turning your magic into something even more wonderful. I want to interview you because you have a story.

Think that sounds like fun? Find time on my calendar and let’s get you interviewed.

Listen to my podcast

And, of course, listen to my podcast! I can’t wait to hear what you have to say with this conversation of story, sustainability, and you!

Peter and I were barely working between the two of us, he had been laid off and with struggles feeding Levi I was barely pulling 5 hours a week. We were at the DHS office applying for food stamps when Peter got the call that yes indeed TriMet was offering him a job. We had been at the DHS office since 7:20 am and we finally got home close to 10:30 am. We barely set our things down, relieved that there was more money in our future and we could at least buy food for our small family when the phone rang. It was my mother. It was one of those phone calls where you just know something is wrong, and how wrong it was. She asked if I was sitting down, and I think I sat down. She didn’t wait to tell me and simply said, “Cristi is dead.”
