    Maybe this is a stupid question, but what is the difference between “sex” and “sexual intimacy”? They are listed on two different levels on that pyramid.

    I don’t believe in stupid questions.

    Sex, I think, refers to the act of sex whereas intimacy would refer to the emotional connection. I was going to ask Beth, my ‘resident’ psych major, but she was in class. I’ll pass these comments onto her for her educated opinion. 🙂

    Michelle, I would agree with you and your definition of sex vs. sexual intimacy. Although, it may be a distinction that only women can discern. Ok, that may not be true, but there is some truth to it.
